Howard Wilkerson Willard

Mr. Howard Wilkerson Willard, 78 formerly of Mt. Airy passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while at his home in Winchester, KY Saturday, June 1, 2013. He was born in Patrick County, VA to the late George W. and Susie Ellen Collins Willard. He was self-employed for many years before his retirement. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mickey and Trudy Willard and Mike and Candy Willard all of Mt. Airy; step daughters and spouses, Donna and Jeff Hoover, and Jesse Tharp all of Kentucky, and Teresa and Mark Nichols of Tennessee; grandchildren and spouses, Zach and Amoree Willard, Jordon and Veronica Willard, Andrew Willard, Corbin Willard, Cassidy Willard, Callie Willard and Carrigan Willard; step grandchildren, Christopher Hoover, Dustin Hoover, Isaiah Nichols, Sophia Nichols, Olivia Nichols, Jason Fox and wife, Amanda, Tanaya Stidham and husband, Brad; two great grandchildren, Abigail and Ella Willard; an expectant great grandchild due in January, 2014 and two step great grandchildren, Hunter and Christian Stidham. In addition to his parents, Mr. Willard was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine Jones Willard and his second wife, Carolyn Sexton Willard; a sister, Inez Bass and brothers, Grady, Bruce, Gene, Sam and George Willard, Jr.; and a step daughter, Annette Tharp. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy with Pastor Jordon Willard and Dr. David J. Brady officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:30 until the time of the service.
