Hurley Morton

Mr. Hurley Morton, age 68, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at his home.  He was born on February 14, 1951 to the late James and Lottie Edwards Morton.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will surely be missed by all who knew him.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife Diane Morton of the home; son Larry Morton; daughters and son-in-law, Rachel “Kathy” Morton, Tabitha and Bryson Wood; grandchildren, Cheyenne McGee and husband Justin, Lana Brown and husband Dillon, Lexy Mickey, Salinda Bonds, Brandon Norman, Alisha Hawkins and husband William; great-grandchildren, Jonah, Chad, Lacee, Isaiah, Serenity, Ash, and Hudson; brother, Billy Morton; sister, Patty Sue Morton; special friends and neighbors James and Vicky Flippen.  In addition to his parents Mr. Morton was preceded in death by brothers Wesley Morton, Bobby Slate, Larry Morton and Russel Slate; sisters, Thelma Glass and Clara Mae Goins; sister-in-law, Jennie Morton; a very special grandson that holds a special place in all our hearts, Tyler Hurley Hiatt; special friend, Grady Hiatt.  A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Tony White.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
