Ida Marie Gwyn Easter

Mrs. Ida Marie Gwyn Easter, age 84 of Ararat, VA, widow of the late Isaac L. Easter, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 11, 2007 at her home. Mrs. Easter was born in Carroll County, June 10, 1922 to the late James and Lucena Tate Gwyn. She was a homemaker and a member of Fancy Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Ella E. and Claucy Hawks of Cana, Linda Easter Davis of Ararat, VA, Gloria Easter Meadows, Sophia, NC, Kathy E. and Craig Easter, Ararat, VA; four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert (Bobby) and Annie Easter, Lonnie and Ludena (Helen) Easter, Dennis and Rhonda Easter, Marlie (Gene) Easter all of Cana; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren and the expectations of three great-great grandchildren; two half sisters and brothers-in-law, Alma and Grady Sechrist of Cana, Phyllis and Louis Gwynn of Las Vegas, NV, a half brother, James (Jim) Chappell of Cana and many many loving friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Easter was preceded in death by a daughter, Etta Mae Easter Farris, a grandchild; two infant brothers and a brother, Roscoe Gwyn; two step sisters, Flora Holder, Gladys Sterling; two half sisters, Esterleen Arrington, Ruth Welch; and a half brother, Billy Chapell. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy by Rev. Kenneth Vass Rev. Serida Bryant and Bro. Don Collins, with burial to follow in the Easter Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home.
