Ida Lee Ramey Lowe

Mrs. Ida Lee Ramey Lowe, 85, of Lowgap, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010. She was born July 31, 1925, in Surry County, to the late Daniel Corbet and Sarah Zenna Poole Ramey. She owned and operated Monticello Beauty Salon and Manassas Beauty Academy in Manassas, VA. Surviving are a daughter, Tanya Lee Lowe of Mount Airy; a grandson and his wife, Cooper Jay and Amanda Lowe of Mount Airy; a sister, Shirley Ramey of Lowgap; a brother, Ross Ramey of Lowgap; a "special nephew" and wife, Honorable Judge Moses Massey and Susan Massey of Mount Airy; and numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lowe was preceded in death by her husband, John Cooper Lowe; a sister, Elizabeth L. Galyean; and a brother, Paschel Ramey. A graveside service will be held Monday, September 6, 2010 at 5:30 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery, with Honorable Judge Moses Massey officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 4:30 PM until the time for the graveside service at Mountain View Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the National Alzheimers Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, 17th Floor, Chicago, IL 60601 in memory of Ida Lee Ramey Lowe and Sarah Zenna Poole Ramey.
