Mrs. Ida Mae Himelright Taylor, age 86 of Laurel Fork, VA, widow of the late Jim Taylor passed away Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, VA. Mrs. Taylor was born in Roanoke, VA, September 16, 1920 to the late Robert Lee and Willie Jane Boothe Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Church. She is survived by four daughters, H. Kay Davis of Elkton, VA, E. Fay Ayers of Cana, VA, Elsie M Litchliter of Martinsburg, W VA, Loretta Bryant of Roanoke, VA, two sons, Jerry Britts and Richard Britts both of Roanoke, VA; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, and husband, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by a grandson, Tony Davis. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday November 27, 2006 at Mt. Bethel Moravian Church by Rev. John Fry. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Fay Ayers, 79 County Line Rd, Cana, VA anytime prior to and after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heritage Hall / Laurel Meadows Nursing Facility, 16600 Danville Pike, Laurel Fork, VA 24352 Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy is assisting the Taylor family.
