Idell Fariss Browder

Mrs. Idell Fariss Browder, 68, of Ararat, VA, passed away Sunday morning, February 11, 2018, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Browder was born July 2, 1949, in Guilford County, the daughter of the late Posey Clarence and Delphia Jane Goad Fariss. Idell worked as a knitter in several textile mills throughout her adult life. She is survived by her husband, Harold Ray Browder; her children, Annette Sawyers, Greg Sawyers, Tony Sawyers, and Roger Sawyers; five stepchildren, Tami Dillion, Robin Branch, Kim Flippen, Harold Ray Browder, Jr., and Timmy Browder; eight grandchildren, Shelia Ashburn, Breanna Hamm, Della Hull, James McCraw, Kendra Sawyers, Kayla Sawyers, Nathaniel Sawyers, and Trinity Martinez; ten stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eleven great-stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Hill and Judy Edwards; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifford and Judy Fariss, Bobby and Shelby Fariss, and Josh and Donna Fariss; her stepmother, Gloria Fariss; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gray and Linda Browder; several nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Janie Hamby, Mary King, and Tasha Easter. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Browder was preceded in death by a son, Bradley Ray Sawyers; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Sawyers. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 19, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Scotty Bullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Worrell Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by her caregiver, Beth Shockley.
