Ila Marie Coe

Mrs. Ila Marie Tate Coe, Granny to all that loved her, age 96 of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, April 26, 2018 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mrs. Coe was born in Wythe County, Virginia on May 14, 1921 to the late Robert Lee and Alice Rowena Tate.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, and great great great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.  Left to cherish her memory are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Alma and Gray Bingman, Doris Hayes, Pat and Ronnie Hylton; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Don and Charlene Coe, Ralph and Dot Coe, Tony Coe, and daughter-in-law, Barbara Coe; 22 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 14 great great-grandchildren; 5 great great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Coe was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ralph Henry Coe; a daughter, Juanita Gilley; a son, James “J. C.” Coe; two sisters; three brothers; and two sons-in-law, Oliver Ray Gilley and Danny Hayes.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2:00pm at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Edwards officiating.  Burial will follow at Skyline Memorial Garden.  The Coe family will receive friends on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 1-2pm at the church.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation and to Woltz Hospice Home for all of the love and care given to Mrs. Coe.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017 or to any Alzheimer’s group of their choice.
