Ilene Burnette McGrady

Mrs. Ilene Burnette McGrady age 74, of Laurel Fork, Virginia passed away at Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital on Thursday, March 24, 2022.  She was born in Virginia on April 20, 1947 to the late Early Lee Burnette and Effie Rosie Pendleton Burnette.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Rush McGrady; one son, Clanton McGrady; one great-grandson, Adian Wyatt Goad; five sisters, Lucille Burnette, Clara Burnette, Charlotte White, Bernice Doran, and Crystal Quesenberry; and three brothers, Harold Burnette, Arnold Burnette, and Larry “Ducky” Burnette.  Ilene worked for over 20 years at Mabry Mill, where she was a “jack of all trades”.  She was the type of person who was willing help anyone.  She loved her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Mrs. McGrady is survived by one son, William M. McGrady (Joanne); seven grandchildren, Nikki Goad (Brandon Goad), Austin McGrady, Jared Stowe, Kacy Brooke Ruley (Dustin), Chandler McGrady, Haley McGrady,  and Harley McGrady; six step-grandchildren Anjulia Finley (Kyle), Javan Pohl, SaraMelinda Meraz, JonDavid Meraz (Megan), Jeremy Meraz (Rachel), and Josiah Meraz (Sarah); seven great-grandchildren, , Maycie Linn Goad, CooperLee Wyatt Goad, Brantley Kole Ruley, Kodah Ray Ruley, Rayne Stowe, Wynona Stowe, and Wyatt Stowe; three step great-grandchildren, Talleson  Finley, Sage Finley, and Nolan Hunter; one sister, Launia Hawks; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial graveside will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in Burnette White Family Cemetery with Deacon Terry Keffer officiating.  Moody Funeral Home in Stuart has been entrusted with the arrangements, and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
