Ima Lois Morris

Mrs. Ima Lois Sumner Morris, age 70, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  She was born on February 1, 1952, in Carroll County to the late Clayton and Belva Hall Sumner.  Mrs. Morris and her husband Steve owned and operated Morris Auto Sales and Body Shop for 40 years.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Steve Morris; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Weatherman (Tim); grandchildren, Kyle Weatherman (Emily), Jordan Weatherman, Anna Welborn (Garrett); great-grandchildren, Emery Weatherman, Ellysyn Weatherman, Maddox Welborn, Alivia Welborn, Kannon Weatherman; sisters, Wilma Dalton, Bonnie Hawks; brother, Donald Sumner.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by a son, Scott Morris; sister, Maxine Felts.  A funeral service was held on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Elder Lowell Hopkins.  The family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for all their care and support given during Mrs. Morris’s stay there.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
