Imogene Hawks Hiatt Dawson

Mrs. Imogene Hawks Hiatt Dawson, 80, of Cana, VA, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021. She was born in Carroll County, VA, July 11, 1941, to the late Troy and Viola Edwards Hawks. Mrs. Dawson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her warm smile and kind hello made everyone feel delighted to see her. Mrs. Dawson worked at Mt. Airy Furniture for many years before working at Cross Creek where she retired. After retirement, she worked at Fancy Gap Dress Shop with her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Bonnie. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Hiatt; her sisters, Dorsa Hawks, and Gladys Combs; her brothers, Wade, Dallas, and Ules Hawks. Mrs. Dawson will be lovingly remembered by her second husband, Raymond Dawson; her sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Bonnie Hiatt, Greg and Cindy Hiatt; stepson and his wife, Timmy and Michelle Dawson; step daughters and their husbands, Angela and Wayne Eldridge, Amy and John Fleming; grandchildren and spouses, Kenny and Karrie Hiatt, Brad Hiatt, Emily and Morgan Edwards, Hannah Hiatt; step grandchildren and spouse, Jared and Michelle Dawson, Noah Dawson, Ryan Eldridge, and Gavin Fleming, great grandchildren, Carter, Mason, and Scarlett; step great-grandchildren, Teddy, Raylan, and Jonah. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Elmo Hiatt, Rev. Zane Fishel, and Rev. Jonathan Bass officiating. Burial will follow at Sandy Ridge Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
