Inez Louise (Hawks) Bowman

Mrs. Inez Louise Hawks Bowman, age 75, of Mount Airy, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy surrounded by her loving family.  Mrs. Bowman was born in Carroll County, Virginia on August 8, 1947, to the late Robert Elliott and Fannie Aline Underwood Hawks.  Inez was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.  She was a faithful member of True Vine Baptist Church for 44 years and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  Surviving is her husband of 49 years, David Lee Bowman; five daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Hicks, Regina Kay Westmoreland and husband Jeff, Sharon Lynn Hodges and husband Darin, Connie Lynn Collins and husband Ricky, Penny Lee Burge and husband, Sean; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Lane Upchurch and wife Crystal, Jeffery Allen Upchurch; thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; a sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda Hawks Ables, and husband Johnny; along with several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by four sisters, Annie Marie Hawks Hawks, Hassie Corrina Hawks Midkiff, Hattie Loraine Hawks Worrell, Navada Mildred Hawks; and brothers, Billy Hawks, David Oscar Hawks, Garfield Ules Hawks, Melvin Leon Hawks.  A funeral service will be on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 11:00 AM at True Vine Baptist Church with Rev. Rawley “Dink” Haynes, Bro. Ricky Collins, and Bro. Mitchell Long officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday, February 27, 2023, at True Vine Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
