Our precious mother passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at Central Continuing Care Home in Mount Airy. She was loved by everyone. She will be missed by all that knew her. She was born to Strody Collins and Bertie McBride Collins in Surry County on September 26, 1929. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, Joffre Paul Bunker, her son, Landis Paul Bunker and her daughter Judy Bunker Vaughan; three sisters Shirley Bowman, June Wells, Vada Gates; and two brothers Maynard and Claude Collins. Surviving their dear mother are daughter Ronda and (Cris) Gates of Mount Airy, Marty Bunker of Mount Airy, Travis and (Judy) Bunker of Mount Airy. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Jonathan Casstevens and Bryson Melton officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 1:00-2:45 pm. The family would like to thank the staff at CCC and staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the compassionate care they gave our mother. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
