Ira Frank Johnson

Mr. Ira Frank Johnson, 81, of Ararat, passed away Wednesday morning, January 28, 2009, at Village Care of King. Mr. Johnson was born September 3, 1927, in Surry County, to the late Joseph W. and Minnie White Johnson. He retired from Patterson Automotive and was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons in-law, Diane and Phillip Hart of Mount Airy and Gail and Ray Key of King; two grandchildren, Jacob Hart of Mount Airy and Justin Sams of King; and a special friend, Faye Honeycutt of Pinnacle. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded by two brothers, Claude Johnson and Clyde Johnson. The funeral service will be held Friday, January 30, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Rayton Puckett and the Rev. Bill Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 at the funeral home.
