Irby Junior Payne

Irby Junior Payne – March 26, 1935-November 24, 2020

On Monday, November 23, 2020, Irby Junior Payne, loving husband and father of four sons passed away at the age of 85.

Irby was born in Patrick County, Virginia and was 1 of 9 sons born to the late James (Jim) Payne and Minnie Lou Lankford Payne.

Survived by his wife of 56 years Bonita (Bonnie) D’Amico Payne.

Sons & daughter in laws, Charles Irby & Heather T. Payne of Moseley, Virginia, Joseph Edward & Sarah Payne of Henrico, Virginia, David Alan & Heather W. Payne of Mt. Airy, NC,  and James Stephen & Kathryn Payne of Mt. Airy, NC, Grandchildren Austin Tyler Payne, Ashley Taylor Payne, and Madelyn Harper Payne and great grandchild Riley Addison Payne, step-grandchildren Jessica Banton, Michael Martin and Trey Martin, step great grandchildren William Jackson and Ember Jackson.

Survived by a brother and sisters in law, Jesse & Savannah Payne of Mt. Airy, NC and Irene Whitt Payne of Sanford, NC.  Special Friends Dot & Jack Combs and family Jeffrey and Brenda Combs, Neva, Lesa, and Jackie and Eric Bolt.

Preceded in death by close friends, Tom & Nettie Parries, Virginia Massey, L.C. Nunn, Lorain Lambert, Keith Lawrence, Harrison Pell, William Houck, Lester Dawson, Don & Lavon Thompson, Fred Smith, Shelby Wood, Howard Morris, and Curtis & Lavis Beamer.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Gideons International  P.O. Box 1032  Mt. Airy, N.C. 27030

The family will not be receiving visitors at Moody’s because of Co-Vid. For those who would like to come by and sign the register book may do so at Moody’s Funeral Home on Wed. Dec.2nd from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Funeral Service will be at Flippin Memorial Baptist Church Thursday Dec.3rd at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Tim Burton and will lie in state 30 minutes before the service.

Burial will be at Midkiff Cemetery
