Irene Maggie Bowman

Mrs. Irene Maggie Shaw Bowman 72, of Mount Airy passed away Tuesday, September 01, 2020 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mrs. Bowman was born in Surry County, on December 11, 1947 to the late Claude Columbus and Iris Westmoreland Shaw.  Mrs. Bowman graduated from North Surry High School then later retired from Walmart after 31 years of service.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all that knew her and will be deeply missed by all.  Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 36 years, Mr. Bobby Gray Bowman; daughters, Michelle King and husband Terry, Amber Nicole Sweet Annette Wall and husband Terry; sons Joshua Wayne Bowman and Robby Gray Bowman; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Shelby Gwyn, Sheila Matthews, and Treva Carter; brothers Bobby Shaw, Charles Shaw and wife Shelia, Alan Shaw and wife Karen; as well as many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman is preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Shaw Lankford; a brother Michael Shaw.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 4, 2020, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Pinnacle United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Bill Sprulin and Rev. Barry Marshall will be officiating.  Family and friends may pay their respects at Moody Funeral Home, in Mount Airy, from 9:30 am until the time of the service.  Moody Funeral Services of Mount Airy is serving the family.
