Irene Jarrell Bowman

Mrs. Irene Jarrell Bowman, age 84, of Mount Airy passed away on December 1, 2021, at Dunmore Plantation in Dobson, NC. Mrs. Bowman was born in Alleghany County, NC, May 6, 1937, the daughter of the late David and Minnie Mae Brooks Jarrell. She was retired from Cross Creek Apparel of Mount Airy, NC. Surviving is her husband of 61 years, Buddy Bowman; daughter, Kaye Norman and her friend, Stephen Post; sons, Tyrone Bowman and Maria StClair, and Tommy Bowman and his wife, Sheila; grandchildren, Zachary Bowman, Maximus Bowman, Brandy Bowman, Brooke Bowman, Erin Delph, Abbi Norman, Dakota Smith, Dallas, Smith, and Teshia Smith; 11 great grandchildren; in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Bowman, and her daughter, Tonya Smith. A graveside service will be held on Saturday December 4, 2021, at 3:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens with Rev. Steve Delph officiating. Her body will lie in state at Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy on Friday from 11:00 AM until 5:30 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative, 401 Technology Lane, Mount Airy, NC 27030 in honor of Irene Bowman.
