Irene Patterson

Mrs. Irene Patterson, 94, of Cana, VA, passed away at Central Continuing Care Wednesday, April 1, 2020.  She was born in Surry County, May 28, 1925, the youngest of nine children born to the late George Washington Wilson and Martha Jane Wilson.  She retired as a clerk from the FBI after many years of service.  She always greeted you with a smile and had a sweet sense of humor.  Mrs. Patterson is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Ann Patterson and Mark and Kacey Patterson; and several grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert William Patterson; sisters, Geneva Thore, Lena Branch and Edith Wilson; and an infant brother and four brothers, Raymond, Harvey, Gilmer and Leo Wilson.  A private graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
