Irene Veronica Stanski Salek

Mrs. Irene Veronica Stanski Salek, 84, of Mount Airy, passed Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Salek was born December 30, 1923, on Stanton Island, to the late Walter and Wilma Stanski. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Hickman of Wildomar, CA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert J. and Laura Salek of Mount Airy and Joseph Paul Salek, III and Christine Salek of Hinsdale, MA; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Salek was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Paul Salek, Jr. The family would like to thank the staff of Central Continuing Care, Ridgecrest, and Northern Hospital of Surry County for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Salek. There will be no formal visitation and the family will have a private service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
