Isa E. Dollyhigh, 45, and Jorge Alberto Guerra Santos, 45, of 5609 Virgilwood Drive, Greensboro, went home to be with their heavenly Father on Saturday, March 22, 2008. Isa was born February 8, 1963, in Surry County, daughter of the late Ervin Gray and Coleen Huffman Dollyhigh. Isa studied voice at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and received a master's degree in voice performance at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She sang professionally in opera for 26 years in Italy, New York City, Washington, DC, and gave concerts in six states. She won an international vocal competition in Italy in 1997 and had received several other vocal awards. She recorded four CDs. Isa had directed choirs at Center United Methodist Church and Grove Hill Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN, and, most recently, the Congregational United Church of Christ in Greensboro. In addition to her music, for the past eleven years Isa had been owner and operator of Sound Healing Arts and earned certifications in massage therapy, sound therapy, polarity therapy, and craniosacral therapy. Isa is survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Kathy Dollyhigh of Greensboro, and Dena Dollyhigh and Larry R. O'Connor and Terry and Tom Marcum, all of Mount Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Susan Dollyhigh of Mount Airy; six nieces and nephews; and her father-in-law, Porfirio Guerra of Honduras. Jorge was born July 20, 1962, by the blue waters of the Carribean in Honduras. As a young man, he came to the United States with the blessing of his family. Joining other family in New York City, he worked for twelve years in a city that rewards the hard work of anyone willing to give it. He learned mastery in computers, acquired technical degree and certifications, and met his future wife, Isa. Isa brought him to North Carolina where he loved nature, especially fishing and going to the beach. He worked at Volvo Trucks in Greensboro as a Technology Systems Analyst and traveled extensively. Jorge is survived by his father, Porfirio Guerra of Honduras; a sister, Evelisis Ortiz of Honduras; a special aunt, Margarita Santos Works of Mount Airy; and two special cousins, Jose Mauricio Archaga and Fredy Archaga Santos, both of Raleigh. Jorge was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Santos. A service to celebrate the life of Isa and Jorge will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Antioch Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dale Wallace, the Rev. Julie Peeples, the Rev. Paul Davis, and the Rev. David Gantt. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Congregational United Church of Christ, 400 West Radiance Drive, Greensboro, NC 27403. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Congregational United Church of Christ in Greensboro.
