Isaac Eugene Spillman, Jr

Mr. Isaac Eugene "Ike" Spillman, Jr., 70, of 320 Granite Street, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 22, 2013, at his home. Mr. Spillman was born October 13, 1943, in Forsyth County, the son of the late Isaac Eugene Spillman, Sr. and Margaret Beshears Spillman. Ike graduated in 1968 from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in criminology, and later graduated in 1975 from William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA, with a degree in arson and bomb investigation. He worked as a self-employed private investigator for many years. He is survived by his wife, Saundra Wilhite Spillman of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Jim Wills of Wake Forest; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Scott and Sherry Spillman and Kevin Hart, all of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Betty Spillman of Winston-Salem; and a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Mike and Juanita Wilhite and Robyn DiRusso, all of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Spillman was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Spillman. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by Mike Wilhite, a brother-in-law, and Sheila Childress, CNA, over the past years. Their care exemplifies the art and importance of love and affection.
