J. Grady Wilson

Mr. J. Grady Wilson, 80, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 18, 1930, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Jessie Frank and Early Frances Bouldin Wilson. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Champion Industries and was a member of Woodville Baptist Church. Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Sally Mae Pack Wilson of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jay Lawson of Pilot Mountain; a son, Donnie Wilson of Mount Airy; three grandchildren, Kimberly Wilson of Mount Airy, and Stacey Lawson and D.J. Lawson, both of Pilot Mountain; a great-grandchild, Luke Carson Woods; and a brother, Walter Wilson of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Wilson; and a grandchild, Alexandra Lawson. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Rickey Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
