Jack Fletcher

Mr. Jack Samuel Fletcher, 73, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 6, 2021, at his home.  Mr. Fletcher was born February 14, 1948, in Surry County, one of five children born to the late Benton Johnny and Rebecca Elizabeth Venable Fletcher.  Jack served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He owned and operated Fletcher Electric for many years.  He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Glenda Kay Hooker Fletcher of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Justin Tew of Pilot Mountain; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Gina Fletcher of Mount Airy and Michael and Wendy Fletcher of Pilot Mountain; his grandchildren, Blake, Mikey, Nathan, Trendai, Shayna, Chloe Anne, Katie, and Ireland; his great-grandchild, Amelia; and a brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Peggy Fletcher of Mount Airy.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Fletcher was preceded in death by two sisters, Patsy Rae Fletcher Fowler and Geraldine Fletcher Duffy; and a brother, Donald Edward Fletcher.  A floating celebration of Jack’s life will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021, from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at Mount Airy Country Club, where he loved to play golf.  At 1:00 PM, military honors will be conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC  27017.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
