Mr. Jack Franklin Llewellyn, 76, of 1551 Forrest Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Llewellyn was born July 17, 1932, in Surry County, son of the late James and Lela Stone Llewellyn. Jack was a farmer and was also retired from Asplundh Service. Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Brenda Llewellyn of Waxhaw, Cleve and Vicki Llewellyn of Mount Airy, Mark and Vicky Llewellyn of Ararat, and David and Tina Llewellyn of Walnut Cove; five grandchildren and their spouses, Lisa and Adam Johnson, Jessica Llewellyn, Laura and Tommy Dozier, Devin Llewellyn, and Harley Llewellyn; four step-grandchildren and their spouses, Jay and Laurie Guffey, Tammy and Bryan Poling, Rodney Jenkins, and William Smith; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a life-long friend, Roy Potts of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Shelton Llewellyn; and two brothers, James "Duck" Llewellyn and Tom Llewellyn. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by Brother Jerry Pardue, and burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
