Mr. Jack Donald Moser, 81, of 732 Crossingham Road, Mount Airy, passed away Monday, September 5, 2011, at his home. Mr. Moser was born February 5, 1930, in Surry County, the son of the late Otis Lee and Annie Dawson Moser. Jack served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated a country grocery store for many years and was a member of the Protestant faith. He is survived by his wife, Minnie Ada Haynes Smith Moser of the home; a sister, Virginia Moser Boyd of Orange City, FL; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Russell Haynes, Sr. and Mary Haynes of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Moser was preceded in death by his first wife, Clytie Dupree Moser; a sister, Pauline Moser Edmonds; and a brother, George Lee Moser. The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Jimmy Slate officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens, with military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
