Mr. Jack Ray King, age 81, of Dobson, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021. He was born in Carroll County Virginia to the late Joseph Brewer King and the late Elva Irene Tate King. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty King Mcintyre; brothers, William Anderson “Bill” King, James Henry “Jim” King and Joseph Edwin “Joe Ed” King. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Ann Wilmoth King; son and daughter-in-law, Eric Ray and Lynette King; granddaughter, Kendyl King; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda King Katalina and Rich; brother and sister-in-law, John Robert “Bob” King and Shirley; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. King was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and a former member of Rocky Ford Christian Church before moving to Dobson. He had worked at and retired from Bassett Furniture and was an avid gardener and horticulturist. Jack also had a lifelong love of Bluegrass Music. A memorial Service will be conducted Saturday, February 20, at 1:00 P.M. in the Moody-Davis Chapel with Reverend Chris Wilmoth officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson NC 27017.
