Mr. Jack "Doc" Wallace age 59 of 534 Butler St. Pilot Mountain went to be with the Lord Saturday February 6, 2010 at the Northern Hospital of Surry County with his loving granddaughter by his side. Mr. Wallace was born on March 15, 1950 in Painsville, Ohio to Evelyn Wallace of Chesterland, Ohio and the late Fred Maroff Wallace. He was a retired Tool and Dye maker from Tyco Electronics and served in the U.S. Army. He was also of the Methodist Faith. Leaving to cherish his memories are a daughter and son-in-law Shannen and Bobby Mathies of the home, a son Chris Wallace of Shoals, NC., also his grandchildren which he loved and lived for Chelsea and Skyler Slavey and Addison Mathies of the home, Ryan Mathies of Cana, his mother Evelyn Wallace of Chesterland, Ohio, a brother and sister-in-law Jeff and Eileen Wallace of Chesterland, Ohio, a sister Teddi Wallace of Chesterland, Ohio and the mother of his children and best friend Connie Wallace of Mt. Airy. He was preceded in death by his father Fred Maroff Wallace, a brother Fred M. Wallace, III and an infant sister Kitty Eileen Wallace. Mr. Wallace was such a generous man he has donated his body to science care with his remains being buried with his father and brother in the Willoughby Cemetery in a private ceremony at a later date. The family will welcome visits from family and friends at his home. Memorial contributions can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 401 Technology Lane Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC. 27030. Arrangements are made by Science Care in Colorado and Moody Funeral Services in Mt. Airy. A special thanks to the staff and his nurses Linda Collins and Crystal Peele from Mountain Valley Hospice Mt. Airy, NC.
