Jackie Hugh "Jack" Bledsoe

Mr. Jackie Hugh "Jack" Bledsoe, 65, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Wednesday October 3, 2007 at Hoots Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Surry County on December 27, 1941 to the late Edgar Rufus and Rumell Davis Bledsoe. Mr. Bledsoe was a retired pipe fitter and of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his devoted wife of 39 years, Gail Key Bledsoe of the home; a son, Tim Bledsoe of Florida; four step-daughters and spouses, Leigh Ann and J. P. Couch of Advance, NC, Regina and David Barbour, Jill and Steve Williams all of Mt. Airy and Paige and Gary Flippin of Dobson; two granddaughters; five step-granddaughters; three step-grandsons; two step great-grandsons; a brother and sister-in-law Dean and "Bobbie" Bledsoe of Dobson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bledsoe was preceded in death by a son, Todd Bledsoe and a stepson, Dow Kennedy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at New Home Church of Christ with Rev. Carl Boles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home of Dobson and other times at the home of his step-daughter Regina Barbour 551 E. Jackson Road Extension, Mt. Airy or at the home of his brother Dean Bledsoe 149 Bledsoe Road Dobson.
