Mr. Jackie Lee Dockery, age 59 of Elkin passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday October 22, 2006. He was born in Forsyth County on September 13, 1947 to the late Oliver Dockery and to Stella White Dockery. He was a used car salesman; he was a member of Union Cross Baptist Church and attended Welcome Valley Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law Kimberly and Jerry Marshall of Dobson, Katherine and Joseph Neal of Mt. Airy; one son and daughter-in-law Kristopher and Jill Dockery of Dobson; Seven grandchildren Blue Marshall, Sage Marshall, Kevin Neal, Kaleb Neal, Jake Dockery, Tess Dockery and Jett Dockery; his mother Stella White Dockery of Elkin; a special niece Robyn Cary of West Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Helen Driver of Boonville, Sue and James Reece of Elkin; brother Buddy Dockery of Elkin; mother of his children Kay B. Shugart of Yadkinville; mother-in-law and friend Bertie Branch Barker of Elkin. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a nephew Tony Driver. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday October 24, 2006 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson with burial to follow in the Union Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Rev. Bill Jenkins. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7 until 9 PM.
