Jackie Burndall Thomas

Mr. Jackie “Jack Jack” Burndall Thomas, 82, of Mount Airy, passed away on Sunday evening January 15, 2023, in Mount Airy, NC surrounded by his loving family.  He was born May 10, 1940, in Surry County to the late Dewey Thomas, Sr. and Gretchen Alice McMillian Thomas.  He was a fun loving, sociable family man.  He loved NASCAR and the car #3.  Left to cherish his memory are nieces and nephews, Kimberly and Anthony Horton, Chris and Julie Cooke, and Shannon and Wayne Lindsay; great nieces and nephews, Kelsey Horton, Kameron Cooke, Gabi Hogan, August Cooke, Isa Lindsay, Caleb Cooke, and Juliana Cooke; his extended family, Ashlyn Martin, and Sandra Cain; and his favorite person, Heather LaChappelle (It was love at first Orange Crush!!).  In addition to his parents, Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by 7 sisters, Phyllis Cooke, Peggy Jessup, Thelma Anderson, Lora Miller, Louise Gillespie, Ollie Crigger, and Verna Jessup; and 2 brothers, Dewey Thomas, Jr. and Leonard Thomas.  There will not be any formal services for Mr. Thomas at this time.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Thomas family.
