Jacob Daniel McBride

Mr. Jacob Daniel McBride, age 36 of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, in his sleep at his home. Mr. McBride was born October 10, 1987, in Surry County to the late Billy Ray McBride and Angela Tilley. Jacob graduated from Mount Airy High School and was an avid Duke fan. He also enjoyed video games and Nascar racing. He is survived by his grandparents, Jehu and Brenda Gaye Goins; aunts, Shirley Anderson, Pam Goins, Mary and John Watkins; uncles, Rex Tilley, Ronnie Tilley and Debbie, Steve Tilley and Mary Jane, Mark “Cotton” Tilley; his stepfather, Jerry Morton; his best friend, Heather Daniels; additional friends, Russ and Billy; along with other extended family. In addition to his parents, Mr. McBride was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lester and Alene Tilley; Ruth Marie Shelton. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens with Reverend Richard Loman officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Moody Funeral Home from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Mount Airy Dialysis Center in Mount Airy as well as Dr. Greenwood for the care provided to Mr. McBride. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. The family would like to ask the attendees to wear or carry a “hoodie” to the service. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
