James Wade Bobbitt

Mr. James Wade Bobbitt age 68 of 935 Old US 52 South, Mt. Airy, NC husband of Mrs. Nancy Banks Bobbitt passed away Tuesday morning, November 27, 2007 at his home. He was born July 24, 1939 in Carroll County, VA to the late William and Lela Hawks Bobbitt. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Bobbitt was retired from Proctor/Silex and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife, Nancy B. Bobbitt of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Derrick Hill, Mt. Airy, NC, Tamera and Greg Carpenter, Spring Hill, TN, two sons and daughters-in-law. James Erette and Patti Bobbitt, Mt. Airy, NC, Robert Douglas and Denise Bobbitt, Ronda, NC, 10 grandchildren and spouse, Kris and Blake Leftwich, Erette Bobbitt, Dillon Bobbitt, Taylor Bobbitt all of Mt. Airy, NC, Kelley Karns and Kari Karns both of Perrysburg, OH, Keelan Carpenter, Chattanooga, TN, Alisha Carpenter and Rachael Carpenter both of Spring Hill, TN and Caitlin Bobbitt, Ronda, NC, 2 sisters, Mary Maude Hash, Galax, VA, and Mazie (Faith) Ward, Lambsburg, VA, four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ernest and Tavie Bobbitt, Joe and Violet Bobbitt, Howard and Alma Bobbitt, and Romie Bobbitt all of Lambsburg, VA, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bobbitt was preceded in death by three brothers, Sgt. Rufus Bobbitt, Edgar Bobbitt, and Kyle Bobbitt, three half brothers, Clayton Bobbitt, Cleave Bobbitt and Harve Bobbitt. Funeral services will be held 12:30 PM Friday, November 30, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy conducted by Rev. Victor Lyons. Burial will follow in the Hawks Family Cemetery in Lambsburg, VA . The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Thursday night at Moody Funeral Home.
