James Nelson Bryant

Mr. James Nelson Bryant, 76, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Bryant was born August 19, 1934, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Early Claude and Margie Betty Galyean Bryant. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cathie and Tony Dix of Mount Airy, Ellen Speight of Thomasville, and Jeanne and Edgar Jones of Trinity; a stepson and his wife, Kenneth Ray and Terri Melton of Spencer; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty Bryant of Asheboro, Sue Williams and Patsy and Pete Lane, all of Burlington, and Nancy and Joe Murray of Sarasota, FL; and a brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Sandra Bryant of Elon. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by two brothers, Elwood Bryant and Charles Bryant. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 30, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Fair Lawn Church of Christ Cemetery, with the Rev. Woody Flippen officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
