James Benjamin Bryant, Sr

Mr. James Benjamin Bryant, Sr., 71, of 209 Brentwood Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Bryant was born September 8, 1936, in Savannah, GA, to the late Danny Roscoe and Pearl Dubois Bryant. He retired as vice president of Insteel Wire Products, attended Westview Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the United States Army. Surviving are his wife, Mary Lariscy Bryant of the home; two sons, James Benjamin Bryant, Jr. and Steven Bryant and special friend, Swansa Long, all of Mount Airy; two grandchildren, Brittni Bryant and Jacob Bryant; and sisters, Evelyn Burnsett of Neptune Beach, FL, Gail Jaynes of Brooklet, GA, and Mozelle Cresto and Dannie Ruth Avers, both of Milwaukee, WI. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by a brother, Robbie Bryant. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Darren Slate, and burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
