James David Carpenter

Mr. James David Carpenter, 75 of Mount Airy passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Northern Regional Hospital. Mr. Carpenter was born on July 3, 1946, in Alamance County, North Carolina to the late James Raymond and Clara Chappell Carpenter. James served his country during the Vietnam conflict in the United States Navy and the United Sates Marine Corps. Mr. Carpenter was a loving husband of 25 years to Jane Knox Grant Carpenter who passed away in 2011, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Left to cherish his memories are his three sons and daughters-in-law, Martin Carpenter and wife Traci, Jonathan Carpenter and wife Danna, Robert Carpenter and wife Angela; one stepdaughter, Anne Christine Poetzch; nine grandchildren, Sierra, Summer, Gabby, Hunter, Nate, Kathryn, Grant, Cassidy, and Knox. In addition to his parents, Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by one brother, James Hunter Carpenter. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Loman officiating. No formal visitation will be held. In lieu of Flowers donation may be made to a charity of the donator’s choice in memory of Mr. Carpenter. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
