Mr. James Edward Caviness age 55 of Mount Airy, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2006. at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Caviness was born in Pulaski County, VA on October 23, 1951 son of Alvin Caviness and the late Myrtle Mabry Caviness and was retired from Kentucky Derby Hosiery after 28 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Dawn Southern Caviness of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Lee Beck of Mount Airy; step-son, Levi Deaton of the home; his father, Alvin Caviness of Austinville, Va. and two sisters, Wanda Lang of Christiansburg, VA and Sharon Abel of Radford, VA. mother-in-law and step-father-in-law Peggy and Darryl Lentini of Lexington, NC; father-in-law Gray Southern of King, NC; special aunt Mattie Bell Coble. and special uncle Claude "Bug" Mabry all of Barren Springs. Va. In addition to his Momie Mr. Caviness was preceded in death by a brother, Archie Wayne Caviness. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Christian Church in Draper, VA. The service will be conducted by Rev. Ronnie Stuart. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy on Monday night from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
