Mr. James Edward Culler, 64, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Culler was born December 13, 1944, in Surry County, to the late Woodrow Culler and Lettie Mathis Culler. He retired from Xerox Corporation in Greensboro. Surviving are his wife, Dianne Culler of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Brandy Culler of Rural Hall and Becky and Alan Bowles of Christiansburg, VA; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Emmanuelle Culler of Fort Bragg and Casey and Tonya Culler of King; he was "Poppa" to five granddaughters, Allison Culler, Elizabeth Culler, Riley Culler, Emory Culler, and Louise Culler; two sisters, Christine Vernon and Sylvia Faw, both of Mount Airy; and a brother and sister-in-law, Donovan and Maxine Culler of Kernersville. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 17, 2009, at Midkiff Cemetery, with the Rev. Wesley Boyles officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
