James Garnett Davis

Mr. James Garnett Davis, 71, of 143 South Oak Street, Lowgap, passed away Friday, August 8, 2008, following an accident. Mr. Davis was born March 1, 1937, in Grayson County, VA, to the late John and Mary Ann Davis. He retired from Spencer's Inc. and was a member of Charity Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Furn Hawks Davis; a daughter, Kathy Snow of Mooresville; a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Pam Davis of Siloam; three grandchildren, Josh Snow of Wilmington, and Jessica Haynes and husband, Justin, and Brandon Davis, all of Mount Airy; a stepgranddaughter, Tanya Smith and husband, Greg, of Siloam; a half-sister, Minnie Huffman of Roanoke, VA; a half-brother, Eugene Davis of Grayson County, VA; and a brother, John Roby Davis of Merritt Island, FL. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 11, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Sandy Ridge Primitive Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by Elder Woodie Edwards, Elder V.J. Hawks, and the Rev. John Kinder, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
