James Gary Dupree

Mr. James Gary Dupree, 61, of 127 Timmons Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Dupree was born September 22, 1946, in Surry County, to the late James Columbus Dupree and Clytie Jean Quesinberry Dupree Moser. He was a retired textile worker and a member of Believers Baptist Church. Mr. Dupree was a veteran of the United States Army. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Ann Nichols Dupree of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Tony and Rhonda Dupree of Asheville, Donnie Dupree of the home, and Jason and Michelle Dupree of Germanton; six grandchildren, Cody Bowman, T.J. Dupree, Benjamin Dupree, Ashley Lawson, D.J. Dupree, and Autumn Ross; and two great-granddaughters, Isis Lawson and Abigail Poindexter. The funeral service will be held Friday, September 12, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Believers Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dewayne Sands, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Believers Baptist Church, where his body will remain until the hour of the funeral service. Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy is serving the Dupree family.
