James Edmiston

Mr. James Edward (Jim) Edmiston, age 83, of Mount Airy passed away peacefully with his family on April 30, 2021, at his home. He was born September 5, 1937, in Belmont County (Bel Air), Ohio the son of the late Robert and Drucilla Lykins Edmiston.  He was a Boy Scout and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Jim was an insurance adjuster for 50 years. Surviving is his wife, Barbara Arrington Edmiston; one daughter, Julia Elam; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Teri Edmiston; grandchildren, Cassie Edmiston, Alex Edmiston, Tiffany Elam and Mia Elam; stepdaughter, Donna C. Adams, and stepson, D. C. Collins; step grandchildren, Rona Hawks, Emma Hawks, Nathaniel Hawks, Maggie Collins, and Katie Collins; sister, Jo Ann Atkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob Edmiston, and Jack Edmiston. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 3, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Chapel of Mount Airy with Dr. Jon Cawley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Service is serving the Edmiston family.
