Mr. James Warner "Jamie" Elledge, Jr., 54, of Mount Airy, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Mr. Elledge was born November 19, 1954, in Trenton, NJ, to James Warner Elledge, Sr. and Reba Absher Elledge. He served our country in the United States Army. He fought a very long, hard battle with sickness, but could not win the fight. Before his illness, Jamie was a devoted husband and loved spending quality time with his family. He coached basketball, baseball and softball and was an outdoorsman, having loved fishing, hunting, and golfing. He leaves behind to cherish his memory a beloved wife, friend, and caregiver, Kathy Shepherd Elledge of the home; two wonderful kids, Ashley Elledge of Greensboro and Todd Elledge of the home; his parents, James Warner "Jim" Elledge, Sr. and Reba Absher Elledge; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Doug Higgins and Treva and Bud Shoemaker, all of North Wilkesboro, and Lisa and Mike Peters of Todd; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Shirley Elledge and Dale and Stacy Elledge, all of North Wilkesboro. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 27, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Chris Dotson and the Rev. Wallace Cole officiating. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Ashley and Todd's college fund at 134 Jessica Lane, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
