James Ray Foley

Mr. James Ray Foley, 81 of Patrick Springs, passed away Saturday at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born on August 3, 1931 in Patrick County to the late Richard H. and Grace Emma Handy Foley. His wife of 61 years, Margaret Hutcherson Foley, a sister, Virginia Stewart and a brother, Richard H. Foley, Jr, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Foley is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James "Bill" Foley and wife Debbie of Patrick Springs; a daughter and son-in-law, Denice Foley Slate and husband Gary of Kernersville, N.C.; One grandson, Kriss Foley and wife Amy; Six great grandchildren; Harley, Dakoda, Chassidy, Ethan, Sarah and Kaitlyn and two sisters; Evelyn Newman of Floyd and Emma Mae Smart of Patrick Springs.
Funeral services for Mr. Foley will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday July 23,2013 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Bernard Handy officiating. Burial will follow at New Beginnings Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for thirty minutes prior to the service.
