Mr. James Larry Golden, 62, of Dobson, passed away in the comfort of his home on Friday, June 9, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 21, 1955, in Forsyth County, to the late James Donald and Elva Bumgarner Golden. He retired as a self-employed electrical engineer and was a member of Rockford Baptist Church. He was a loyal friend to all who knew him, as well as a father figure to Paul and Zachary, to whom he instilled his Christian values and leadership. Survivors include his wonderful life partner, soul mate, best friend, and the love of his life, Sharon Bryant. They shared a full life together for thirty years and enjoyed a lifetime of love and devotion. Other survivors include an honorary uncle, Ronnie Allen; two honorary brothers, William and Johnny Bryant; three honorary sisters, Audrey Bryant Edwards, Jeanie Allen Prevette, and Karen Allen Bryant; two honorary sons, Paul Edwards and Zachary Bryant; honorary nieces, Elizabeth and Kathryn Sykes; three cousins, Richard “Dick Golden,” Claude “Rink” and Helen Snow; and a special “Papa”, Ray Bryant. Preceding him in death is his parents, his aunt, Hazel Farrington; a special spiritual friend, Pastor Hugh Bryant, and his life partner’s mother, Oma Lee Bryant. A graveside service was held Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Rockford Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Miles Bryant.
