James Carl Graunke

Mr. James Carl Graunke, 59, of 716 Hale Street, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday morning, October 14, 2007, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Graunke was born September 23, 1948, in Kenmore, NY, to the late Carl and Florence Thormann Graunke. He was employed by Renfro Corporation and Bassett Furniture and attended Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Annette Ramsey Graunke of the home; three children and a daughter-in-law, Katherine Graunke of the home, Matthew Graunke of the home, and Jonathan and Justine Ramsey of Buffalo, NY; a grandson, Jonathan Ramsey, Jr. of Buffalo, NY; a niece and her husband, Barbara and Ron Garrison of New Carrollton, MD; and a sister. In addition to his parents, Mr. Graunke was preceded in death by his eldest sister, Jean Wilson. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 20, 2007, at Haymore Memorial Baptist Church Prayer Garden. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Robert McCrary and Margaret Rosche. The family will receive friends following the celebration of life in the fellowship hall of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church.
