James Woodrow "Woody" Gwyn

Mr. James Woodrow "Woody" Gwyn Age 70 of 157 Broken Branch Trail Mt. Airy, NC. passed away Wednesday morning November 14, 2012 at his home. Mr. Gwyn was born April 12, 1942 in Surry County to the late James Richard and Lucy O'Neal Gwyn, he retired from Simmons Nissan after 25 years of service, he was a self employed mechanic for 15 years and attended Union Hill Friends Meeting Church. Surviving are his wife Marilyn Creed Gwyn of the home, two sons and daughters-in-law Kenny and Janet Gwyn of Ararat, NC and Kevin and Teresa Gwyn of Mt. Airy, two grandchildren Bailey Gwyn and Emma Grace Gwyn, four sisters and brothers-in-law Ruby Tilley of Mt. Airy, Carolyn and Mike Reed of Columbia, SC, Stacey Lawrence of Ararat, NC. and Gail and Benny Anderson of Mt. Airy, one brother and sister-in-law Johnny and Maxine Gwyn of Mt. Airy and his good friend "his dog" Molly. In addition to his parents Mr. Gwyn was preceded in death by a sister Gladys Combs and by a brother Davis Gwyn. Funeral services will be held Friday November 16, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Union Hill Friends Meeting Church with services conducted by speaker Ricky Easter with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night 6 to 8 P.M. at Union Hill Friends Meeting Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Union Hill Friends Meeting Church, Red Brush Rd. Mt. Airy, NC. 27030.
