James Michael "Mike" Hill

Mr. James Michael "Mike" Hill age 58 of 3551 Riverside Drive, Mt. Airy, NC husband of Mrs. Frances Goins Hill passed away Friday, evening, November 25, 2011 at the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta, NC. He was born June 30, 1953 in Catawba County, to Mary Elizabeth Brown Hill Carter and the late Jesse Warren Hill. He was the owner and operator of James M. Hill and Son Trucking, Inc. and Hill Farms and attended the Salvation Army. Surviving is his wife, Frances Goins Hill of the home, one son, James Matt Hill of Mt. Airy, and two daughters and a son-in-law, Chelsi Hill of Mt. Airy, Stacey and Phillip Combs of Stuart, VA, two step-sons, Austin Akers of the home and Shawn Akers of Mt. Airy, four grandaughters, his mother, Mary Elizabeth Brown Hill Carter of Mt. Airy, and a brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Martha Hill of Lakemont, FL, mother-in-law, Freeda Pond, Dobson, father-in-law and wife, Edward and Jeannie Goins of Garwood, NJ, "special friends," Ricky Watson, Fionn Brim, and Jody Dellenback. In addition to his father Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his step-mother, Frances Edwards Hill and step father, Carl Carter. Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 30, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Mr. Eric Sawyers and Major Michael Rogers. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday night 6:00- 8:00 pm at Moody Funeral Home.
