James Bryan Holland

Mr. James Bryan Holland, age 96, of Chapel Hill, NC passed away at his granddaughter’s home in Germanton, NC, on Sunday morning, November 26, 2023.  He was born in Laurens County, South Carolina on September 12, 1927, to the late Ansel Clair Holland and the late Mattie Lee Killebrew Holland.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clydia Mae Maynor Holland; sisters, Addie Mae Holland, Grayce Holland McLamb; brothers, Lindsey Hampton Holland, Wesley Clair Holland, Bernard Holmes Holland, Ansel Cary Holland; and great-grandson, Dallin James Tilley.  He was retired from Herald-Sun Newspapers in Durham, NC, and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Surviving are his children, Connie Holland Tilley and her husband Gary Tilley, Molly Holland McLean, James Bernard Holland and his wife Rebecca Clark Holland; grandchildren, Amanda Tilley, Jared Tilley and his wife Cindy Koontz Tilley, Rachel Tilley Haynie and her husband Kevin Haynie,  Rebekah Tilley, Jeremy Tilley and his wife Royale Smith Tilley, Celeste  Tilley, Joy Tilley, Hannah McLean, Gabriel Holland and partner Jeremy Barlow, Jennifer Holland, Clarke Holland and partner Lacy Hartrick, and Cody Holland; great-grandchildren, Camryn Tilley, Caylie Tilley, Celsey Tilley, Addison Tilley, Ashton Tilley, Kevin Haynie, Jr., Kaden Haynie, Kinson Haynie, Jadyn Doria, Jacob Doria, Tyler Tilley, Arthur Tilley, Reid Tilley, Evelyn Tilley, and Leon Holland.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Westwood Cemetery, in Carrboro, North Carolina.  Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Holland family.
