James (Jimmy) Carlyn Brotherton. 68. Died on Tuesday December 29. 2020 in Mt Airy, North Carolina. He was born on April 10, 1952 to Jesse and Hazel (Clark) Brotherton in Albright, West Virginia. In addition to being an amazing father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend Jimmy was an exceptional photographer and enjoyed watching the Redskins and NASCAR on the television. His greatest passion was music. Playing guitar and writing songs has enabled him to create priceless memories for his family and friends. Jimmy is survived by his true love Doris Arthur, 3 daughters, Virginia (Sherbrick) Brotherton, Cynthia (Hancock) Brotherton, Heather (Wright) Brotherton, 8 grandchildren, Logan, Abigail, Stephen, Dylan, Paige, Connor, Sampson, and Ayla, 4 siblings, Robert (Shirley) Brotherton, Carol (Mister) Brotherton, Ruthie (Cline) Brotherton and Jean (King) Brotherton. Jimmy being one of thirteen children is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
As Jimmy joins many loved ones in heaven it can be guaranteed he will play his guitar loud enough for all to hear while watching over all of those he loved. Jimmy will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
