James Malery Johnson

Mr. James Malery Johnson, age 91, of Elkin, NC passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in Yadkin County at the Yadkinville Nursing Center.  He was born in Forsyth County, on September 28, 1930, to the late Claude and Lena Stanley Johnson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother, Almeda Craddock, Mary Davis, Vallie Prince, Rosco Johnson.  He was a retired owner and operator of a Construction Company, and a member of Little Richmond Baptist Church.  Surviving is his wife, Velno Wiles Norman Johnson, daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Glenn Conner, son, Jerry Johnson; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Dale Poindexter, Brenda and Phil Whitaker; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; sisters, Margarette Shaffner, Billie Spurill, Clara Mae Hillard.  A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Friday June 17, 2022, in the cemetery of Little Richmond Baptist Church, Rev. JV Lowe will officiate the service.  His body will lie in state on Thursday June 16, 2022, at Moody-Davis Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM and again on Friday morning from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM.  There will be no formal visitation held.  Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Johnson Family.
