Mike Marshall

On January 31, 2022, Mike Marshall peacefully passed away in his longtime home in Cana, Virginia.  A kind and generous soul with a quick wit and a sharp mind, Mike will be deeply missed by friends and family; we mourn his passing while celebrating his life.

Mike is survived by his wife of 48 years, JoAnn Marshall; a daughter, Jenni Marshall, and two grandchildren, James and Catherine Baksic.

Mike was born to the late Bill and Alpha Marshall in Mount Airy, North Carolina.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Lucille Jefferson and his brother Edwin “Buddy” King.  Mike worked for 41 years as a driver for Estes Express Lines and was a familiar face to the many businesses throughout Surry County where he made deliveries.  Mike was an avid animal lover, and enjoyed his recent years of retirement by spending time with his wife and their many cats.

The family appreciates the outpouring of support during this difficult time.  However, due to concerns related to COVID, there will not be a formal visitation, as the burial will be a private ceremony at Willow Hill Moravian Church.
