James Louis Martin

Mr. James Louis Martin, age 56, of Hillsville, VA, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2007, at his home. Mr. Martin was born in Carroll County, August 20, 1950, to Rev. Louis and Fay Bowman Martin. He was a self-employed truck driver. Surviving are, a daughter, Joy Martin; two sons, Glenn Martin and Brandon Martin, all of Mt. Airy; his parents, Rev. Louis and Fay Bowman Martin of Hillsville, three sisters and a brother-in-law, Jane Martin; Lisa and Van Jones, all of Hillsville, Janice Martin of Mt. Airy; his grandmother, Murial Martin of Kernersville; nine nieces and nephews; nine great nieces and nephews; a special friend, D.A. Strickland and the mother of his children, Barbara Martin. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Skyview Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Wendell Horton and Rev. Dewey Felts. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7:00 until 9:00 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy and also at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
